Pin up model Vanessa Frankenstein

Pin up model for retro fashion

What would be the pin up/ vintage- industry without their beautiful models. There are so many wonderful women, specifically dedicated to the subject of pin up and Retro fashion. The ladies all seem so graceful, elegant and proud in their vintage clothing. Often I feel, whose images were created, not at the present time, but original 50 years ago. They seem so convincing.

A pin up model, what particularly fascinates me here is Vanessa Frankenstein. Red hair, Monster T-Shirts, ‘Cigarette Pants’ and always stunning views are her trademarks. To miss a distinctive look, the German Spanish. As the name suggests she also cultivates a passion for old horror movies.

Pin up model Vanessa Frankenstein in the interview

What makes Vanessa’s love of the 40s to 60s , which for them pin up model should now bring like a ‘ normal working day ‘ looks for them and why just Frankenstein it’s so did to Monster her to learn her in the following interview.

How does one become the pin up model?

How did you get this to work up model as a PIN? Was it always a secret dream of you random, or is it rather?

I have worked earlier as a model in terms of people, but then realized that it made me not particularly great fun. You have to be as natural as “mainstream” model, and that has always been difficult for me because of my devotion to vintage. By Instagram did find some retro labels on me and my career is as “pin up model” launched. So I could connect all of a sudden my experience before the camera and my personality. Absolutely amazing and unplanned basically.

What fascinates you especially in the 40s up 60s?

First and foremost, I’m a big fan of the music of the 40’s up 60. I can’t hear basically what is current as the rock of the 80s and the 50s and 60s outweigh strongly in my music collection. It can be quite exhausting to me to go out at night;

Elvis’ accommodation during his time in Germany is with me so to speak right around the corner, which is certainly also a reason why I grew up with this kind of music.
If one listens to the music of this time of the day, it is of course inevitable that it sympathizes with the former fashion, design and films. Seen Designtechnisch for me was in the 40s and 50s “everything better”. At that time, the cars, the clothes, the hairstyles, even the refrigerators were a real eye-catcher.

How can one imagine a ‘normal’ working day with you?

Because I’m almost always my own makeup artist and Hairstylist, I start my workday to make me usually quite early to take the curlers out of the hair (Yes, I know… very sexy), hair and make-up myself. What happens after that depends from job to job. Sometimes, it takes only 4 hours, others take a shoot of the day or even several days. It never relates to especially glamorous. It’s hectic and there’s quick outfit change. One is either in front of the camera to check out in the locker room or in front of the mirror to hair and makeup.

As professional pin up model to look especially on his appearance and his diet. Do you have a few insider tips for us?

I have the luxury of a pin up model, be lucky which means that I must be not super large or super slim. It is generally of advantage to have a good body feeling as a model. It is important to know how to move appealing and are in front of the camera. I also dance ballet, which is quite helpful. Evening make-up is off is always a good idea (no matter what time it is and how tired it is).

You’re even doing your hair and your makeup. To get especially the elaborate hairstyles, do you need to sure patience at the beginning?

Yes that’s true. I would not make it if I personally had no connection to it. It is so to speak my inner desire to it myself, so I try to learn more and be better. I’m but up model in addition to my job as a PIN (a profession in which I would like to work until I’m old) become a professional Makeup Artist . For this reason, it makes me great fun of hairstyles and makeup work.

Are you privately also always top styled, or can it be even a normal jeans and T shirt?

I wear private not always pumps, pencil skirt and suspenders and am not always completely melted or doctored. Nevertheless, I remain faithful to herself of course also privately. I’m a big fan of the “cigarette pants” and any pants with high waistband. Generally I wear any dresses or skirts that cover the knees, not, which is just not my personal taste.

Because I care so much for times past and deal with retro and Vintage firmen work, my closet to 98% consists of retro- / vintage fashion. Anyway I like it often convenient and practical and wear jeans from Freddies of pinewood or cigarette pants with retro / vintage tops and saddle shoes or Creepers. These are “fast” looks that nevertheless convey the retro charm. All types of Frankenstein tops or Monster T-Shirts are also part of my wardrobe.

You’re a big fan of old horror movies (which Yes also your name suggests). How to develop a passion as a young woman for classic Horrofilme? Is Halloween celebrated then also really big on you?

I was already since I can think of a great lover of horror and a horror. Horror figures and whacking have dressed in childhood and teenage have I absorbed horror movies literally. With the Addams Family or creatures such as Frankenstein’s monster I could always identify. You are an outsider and just an angle on it. As a teenager you feel often funny and excluded from society, anyway, that was so me and a little bit of that feeling is still in me. Just the “horror”, with which I was brought up, gives me therefore still a homelike feeling.

My preference for old is of course also here visible. I collect, for example, everything from the classic universal monsters of the 1930s up 1950s, therefore busts, key rings, etc. With me you will find but also plenty things with bats, pumpkin heads and spirits in the form of clothing, socks, purses and and and. I also love the Halloween music from this period.
It is obviously that I am a big Fan of Halloween. I think it’s a shame that it is still not quite so celebrated in Germany here. Clearly there are here and there parties but what is going on in America or England, just different what. Halloween is long for me but of course in the heart of the whole year as a “Frankenstein”.

What is your absolute favorite piece of clothing?

I don’t actually have a genuine “favourite”. There are a few selected things in my closet that I wear very often and therefore strongly belonging to my ‘look’. My Bikerlederjacke with my “Rocky Horror Picture Show”-badges, my Leopard coat from the ‘ 50s, a black pencil skirt (I’ve gotten some ;))) and my Tigerprint pants are definitely among my favorites.

Because you live the retro style, I could imagine that lurk in your place some vintage treasures. Is a visit to your home like a little time travel into the past?

I just spent quite some time on the move, which unfortunately is somewhat difficult. Would someone at home visit now me, it would look rather like in a provided thrift store or at the dump. Haha;)) rather unattractive. Nevertheless, there are in my mostly furniture and knick knacks from the 50s or early 60s. Since I live with my boyfriend, I got really lucky that he very likes the design of this time and we pull in the topic setting up together.

How does one become the pin up model?

Many girls would have also like to time private slip in the role of a pin up models and make nice pictures of yourself. What would you give to them for advice?

If it is brand new and inexperienced, it helps if you can handle yourself with makeup brushes and curling iron. To be able to style himself industry is very important and helpful in the pin up my opinion.

The 50’s are “Old news” and not all today’s hairdressers and makeup artists have idea about it. Otherwise it is always advisable in the closet to have a few pretty little dress that you can bring to the shoot. When Privatshootings, only in very few cases, photographers make the clothing and even if everyone has an own taste. The 50s illustrations, PolkaDots and petticoats were not only Gil Elgvren. There are so many sources of inspiration from this period. One must think only of actresses such as Diana Dors, Ava Gardner or Anita Ekberg. In Germany, I miss a bit the bandwidth of what actually did in the 50s.

In contrast to England or the United States, still everything is very cliched. Are one of the few exceptions such as girl dream fashion, who have managed to break away with classic and high quality clothing of. I am therefore very proud that I am part of the current autumn / winter collection. I hope that this setting also generally soon changes. This of course not uninteresting ;)) were new, creative and unusual pin up models

And last: makes me happy that…

What brings me joy and I meet many interesting and dear people my job can I make.

In their statements, I notice that Vanessa Frankenstein lives the 50s with utmost passion and embodies. This is certainly one of the reasons why her demeanor and her pictures seem so authentic . When you would walk a few steps in the past in their society. And of course perfectly doctored and hilariously dressed.

Thanks to their dedicated responses with regard to classic horror movies I came itself properly on the taste, time to dive into the world of the classic horror film. I’m also a great lover of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and have to admit that only her extraordinary stage name had awakened my interest in Vanessa.

Thank you for this interesting interview with my Vintage Blog and the interesting insight into life behind the camera. I wish her every success with her career as a pin up model and makeup artist and am pleased to see more great pictures of her in the future.
